2006/07 Promotion & JPT Night

On Friday 22nd November 2019 Rovers fans will be able to pay just a tenner to indulge themselves in a rare chance to meet and listen to many of the men who led us to our first trip to Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium and soon after earned that famous promotion at the spankingly revamped Wembley Stadium!

Our 2006/07 Promotion & JPT Night at the Mem not only give Rovers supporters a memory of that stunning and surprising season, but will also offer Gasheads a humble and affordable chance to meet many of the heroes of the squad. AND the money goes to charities, including one to recognise a sadly departed member of that squad, Junior Agogo.

There will be interviews, led by Geoff Twentyman, with four or five of the squad, expected to include top stopper Steve Phillips, the defensive Dream Team (Steve Elliott, Craig Hinton & Byron Anthony) and the top scorer of that season, Richard Walker. Paul Trollope should also have a word or two to say!

These legends will reveal the inside story of how they came to be at Rovers and just how that season transpired. Then, in a Q&A session they will answer questions from you, the Gasheads who faithfully followed them.

Although this was never intended as a full-on reunion of that squad (there will be another time for that...), other players and staff from the squad are also due to attend, including Lewis Haldane, Mike Green, Tom Parinello and Steve Bissix. Finally we will also have some blasts from the past present, including BRFPA President Billy Clark, and 1989/90 top scorer David ‘Boris’ Mehew. Others TBC.

When you order you will be sent an eticket, which you can print out and show at the door on the night. We will also keep a list of ticket buyers just in case of emergency!

The doors will open at 7pm and the players will enthral you with their stories from 8pm onwards.

No dress code, a Friday night out, free parking, a Rovers raffle, a trip to the Mem and the company of a great great team. What’s not to like?
